If you haven’t been to London yet, you need to add it to your bucket list. It is a once in a lifetime trip, filled with fun attractions, culture and culinary delights. It is a city like no other! Here are some of the best reasons why you need to visit at least once in your life.

  • The History


London was a capital city, long before some areas of the world were even discovered or a country! So there is a vast amount of history to see. You can wander around somewhere like the Tower of London and see where Catherine Howard and Thomas Cromwell were imprisoned. A sight like that has been around since the 12th century so it is something amazing to see and witness. You can see the crown jewels on display as well as visit Buckingham Palace itself. You don’t have to be a royalist to appreciate the beauty and splendour of it all. Visit the Houses of Parliament where Guy Fawkes was discovered as well as Big Ben. And these are only mentioning a few of the historic sites. There are many more to visit.


  • The Food


London is a diverse city filled with all sorts of different people and different cultures. You could choose more traditional options like fish and chips at a local pub. But there is something for everyone. American style food, Mexican, Lebanese or Turkish for example. You can even have a taste of Italy at a restaurant like L’anima Café. Whatever your taste, there is somewhere that you would love. You have to give the bakeries and patisseries in London a try too. The Hummingbird Bakery is a must.


  • The Attractions


As well as the historic attractions, there is plenty more to do too. How about taking a ride on the London Eye or hoping on the rides at the London Dungeon? You could even visit Madam Tussauds or see a show on the West End. There is the London Transport Museum, as well as plenty of art galleries. There are a lot of attractions that are free of charge too. National History Museum or the Science Museum anyone?




  • The Shopping


Like the food, there is something for everyone in London. If you prefer quirky market stalls, you could visit somewhere like Camden Market. If you prefer fancy boutiques, then Covent Garden is a great place to visit. Big high street chains more your thing? Then Oxford Street is a must. Bond Street is great for designer shopping as well as visiting one of London’s Westfield shopping malls.


  • The Outdoors


If you like to cycle around, then there are plenty of green parks and spaces that you can cycle through. So you can see the city in a different light. You could also take a boat out on the Thames or go further out to somewhere like Kew. Plenty of beautiful gardens in the Kew and Richmond areas of London.
